Transfer Function

Majority of the sensors should be linear.

$$ S = a + bx $$

there can also be non-linear (multiple linear segments, polynomial function, exponential function, etc.)

• Some requires multiple inputs (humidity sensors requires temperature as well)
• when it gets to Saturation (when the output becomes flat at some levels of input), you shouldn’t trust the sensor anymore.

Quality of Measurement

• Resolution
• Accuracy
• Precision or Repeatability
